Logic elements

A logic element is a type of hydraulic valve that is used as a logic gate where a control signal tells how the logic element should react. They are used in a variety of hydraulic circuits and systems, and combined with other valves they can create functions for directional control, flow control and pressure control. Logic elements are available in both balanced and unbalanced versions.

Balanced logic elements are not affected by the load

Balanced logic elements are not affected by the load in the system, they only react to the control pressure. They are used, for example, when you want to be able to open or close the valve regardless of the load.

Unbalanced logic elements does not require an external pilot source

Unbalanced logic elements are affected by the load in the system. One advantage is, for example, that you do not need an external pilot source. Instead you can use the pressure from the load to open the valve.

Monitored and safety classified logic elements

We also offer logic elements that are monitored. With these you get feedback in the form of an electrical signal that indicates whether the valve is in the open or closed position. The monitored logic elements are often used when personal safety is important or if they are specifically recommended in machine or safety standards. Monitored logic elements are common in industries such as steel mills and paper mills where you have designated work areas for safety reasons. The monitored logic elements can, for example, confirm that functions are fully switched off during service or in emergency shutdown systems.
